Until the Covid-19 pandemic, I had a big garden (of about half an acre) that I had rented from the city council. I grew all kinds of vegetables and also had two big flower patches, a little shed and a hollywood swing. After an exhausting workout with sowing, weeding and harvesting, I loved to sit on my swing in the evening sun and enjoy the colors and fragrances of my little natur paradise.
When looking for ideas for a new series, I decided to incorporate a small bit of my garden in my work. So pressed flowers or leaves mix in with hand stitches in my Garden Secret Series. It’s an attempt to translate the delicate beauty of my wildflower beds to fabric.
