I love lace! And when I have some vintage lace left-overs, I often make “lace flowers” for further use in a piece like I did in this art tag here:
The lace flowers are really easy to make!
For the tutorial pictures, I used thread in a contrasting color so you can better see it. In a textile piece I would rather choose thread in a color similar to that of the lace.
Step 1: cut off a piece of lace and sew running stitches near the lower edge of the lace
Step 2: pull the thread ends and thighten them so that the lace forms a circle
Step 3: tie the sewing thread and use for fixing the lace flower on the background
